its been a long time since i've blogged .. well the reasons are imminent ... college is finishing, its been a busy april with lots and lots of things and lack of sleep ruling.
Further, there's lot of entertainment going on with the political tamasha and the IPL giving the much needed daily dose of entertainment that the internet 'used' to offer.
Other not-so-obvious reason is that my internet limit is exceeded again, so i am on conservation mode. the daily day ends up with attending classes, ghoomoing, eating at select restros everyday, doing some work in college, coming late home, watchin ipl and late night phone thingy's (whenever applicable).
i guess till may 20 its gonna be diff. bloggin regularly, so .... till then alvida !

IPL shuru !
IPL season 2 just started today and it feels great that we have some better source of entertainment apart from the stupid election bakwaas thats going on. i had the opportunity to talk with some slum people regarding the election thingy, too and the results are that people would remain fools while the politicians would remain 'gundas'/corrupt. while the male votes would still be sold in the name of liquor/other emoluments, the females are a subdued class and they will continue to vote to their husband's likings .. ...
coming back to IPL, it seems like a liquor haven too! apart from DLF sponsoring the league, everywhere u'll find different brands of the same company (UB) and apart from owning a team, vijay mallya has cleverly imprinted his brand on every person getting TV footage, from the cheergirls to the players to the commentators to even the umpires ! call that as advertising ......
another thing that deserves mention is that old is gold and this old saying will continue to remain true. rahul dravid is lovely and any criticism is just bad for the guy .... his elegance deserves a special mention and so does tendulkar. their greatness is and will remain supreme. one thing about dravid is his sheer strokeplay (and sometimes predetermined game, which lands him in trouble). and warne and kumble !!! how can someone talk about them ?? both have retired yes.. both are soo different in their approaches but both are equally successful. while warne can control the amount of leg-spin going in a delivery, kumble bowls to the limitations the batsman has. and some critics say indians fire only on indian grounds-that seems false, too. with tendulkar, dravid and kumble being in the limelight today and KP, flintoff, smith etc all bungling up, its obvious that indian cricket is and will be a treat to watch ....

what have i been upto ?
after the march ending with successful techfest and pecfest closing, i dont really know what i've been upto. its 11th april and things are flowing damn fast. may's a step away and final exams and then degree is gonna be in my hands and i'd be sitting the same way waiting for my job offer to come and me doing something constructive in life. damn .. what have i been upto these important 11 days ??
ah, yes.. exams were round the corner. so assuming the first week went in studying (plus late night talks with umm hmmm .. o no .. dint do dat either ... ). and the holidays are making it worser for me to live the final days of college. my exams went off okayish, with rihani giving an easy paper (its too obvious, that guy is predictablly obvious. 1st sessional-he'll satisfy his ego, next sessional-he'll satisfy ur's). nag was at his usual, 1 question from the syllabus out of 3. arun was a suprize, with easier questions to help people pass the subject (they've gone so bloddy predictable that they gave solved examples so that atleast we guys wud get that right in the paper. ) sadly, i wrote 1 mm equal to 10 cm, forgot to add 2 numbers etc. despite stupid errors, i expect an average score, which is fine.
coming back, i guess i've been upto playing travian and kicking some people's villages. 5 guys have resigned since i've started attacking them.. so thats one good thing i've done. what else ??
that major project.. yes. today was a good day for science . tomorrow's gonna be better..
people ask me .. what are we upto in that ... i guess its the time to write it ....
well, our major project is a stealth robot. rocket science ?? not really
recall the mumbai terror blasts. the need of beforehand information regarding any kind of unwanted activity is immense. automating techniques to prevent life is important. imagine some device which goes into hostile locations and shows you what is the exact scenario. no its not a fixed camera am talking about. a moving robot, with features to help achieve stealth operations.
now imagine yourself in US and you call up ur home number. you control a robot at your home to see if everything's okay. so what features our WALL-E has ??
essential features::
mobile controlled semi-autonomous/ autonomous robot
video/audio wireless transmission
usb charging
LCD for easy understanding
high level of encryption
provision of reaching destination autonomously
3 degrees of freedom (it moves all directions plus camera mount is movable by user)
cool .. ummm hmmm (na dat does not refer to the late night talks)
i guess i have been upto something now ...
PS: i've decided it's name to be sanjay (dhritrashtra's eyes of the kurukshetra war)

one, two unbuckle your shoe...
are you a journalist ?? A hindi one ?? the one which speaks speaks with regular pause of 700 ms between each word and with sound loudness greater than 60 db ? read on ....
if not, then read on.. (as if you'll agree with what i instruct)
Well, it all starts with west. since the (in)famous attempt at shoe-throwing on Mr. Bush, its caught up quite fast to be the the coolest fashion among the journalists. Chinese PM got it in UK but our developing india aint far behind the west. as elucidated in the past, India's great at adopting western bad habits quickly, as seen in first-hand by mr. chidambaram and naveen jindal.
First, wear old shoes from home. Then plan out the attack. it should be within the important parts of the speech of the victim, so that all the cameras are rolling, otherwise its an attempt gone in vain. Dont hurry, cause other journalists would miss the opportunity to interview but dont wait too much cause the person may be gone by the time your guts have come out. Having a seat near the right-centre is preferable (for right handers) because of ease in throwing action. dont be too angular too, cause it would give the nearby people time to stop. The MOST IMPORTANT thing is to be careful that the shoe does NOT hit the target because thats the trend brother ........... thats the hidden victoria's secret (what bullshit i write)
well, lets not go into the nitty-gritty discussing the obvious facts like things to gain by this- publicity, money (the sikh guy who threw at chidambaram got 2 lakh in cash from akali's) , opportunity to make a 'sansani-khez' story on jail behavior (remember you're a journalist) and immortalization and probably a reference in children's history books, too (if you're lucky). More importantly, its the fame your family gets. your mom is seen on the TV bragging about your good history and your wife seen supporting you (despite of the last night fight). Your job increments increase because they're afraid you'll join politics.
Another thing is the aftermath. Dont forget to give a dumb explanation for the act. some prior research may help. what else, dont forget the victoria's secret brother ..
and for the victims, dont forget to forgive the thrower cause that would help you show your kind heart. Btw, what else can you do ? u got humiliated in front of national TV. you want to cry like rakhi sawant and tell everyone that they'll have to pay for what they did ??? Am sure you wont want that..... would you ?
if not, then read on.. (as if you'll agree with what i instruct)

academic learning in electronics engineering
its time i wrote anything (had my exams and am badly addicted to the stupid travian game(my latest rank was 547)). after giving my last sessional exams in engineering, i have been contemplating the 'academic excellence' achieved in our 4 years of engineering. Being of electronics and electrical communication engineering, electronics is an integral part of the course so i'll just elaborate how much exposure to electronics a guy may get if he's planning to utilise his 4 years in PEC, or for that matter, any engineering college in a chronological manner.
1st year
the only electronics learnt in the initial year is in the subject 'mechatronics', where i got to learn electronics is about diodes and transistors. it was wonderful to learn that curves of these devices are called characteristics. (for the people who have studied 11th and 12th NCERT books thoroughly, i guess its redundant, but hold on.. read more..)
2nd year
diodes and transistors rule the roost again. analog electronics was a subject of intense understanding, but it turns out to be a wasted chance because rather than learning, it was more important to crib about the teaching standards- the lack of it, for that matter. physics subject too helps us understand how the semiconductor physics make them work, while we wonder that had it not been invented, 2 years of our lives would have been saved .
3rd year
nothing really electronics was learnt, apart from diodes and transistors again (now the topic is how they are used in power electronics). people have just begun wondering is there anything except diodes and transistors in electronics worth worrying about??
4th year
the 1st semester teaches diodes and transistors (again) in the context of VLSI circuits now. and the 2nd semester teaches it in context of microwaves.
Now, the best (thats meant in a satirical fashion, ok ?) part has been learning the thing over and over again. while the 'characteristics' i.e. plots of working of these stupid devices have remained same (thankfully) over these years, everytime before the sessionals people provide different explanation to explain the graph over and over again, while everyone is now accustomed to make the stupid plot even in his/her dreams. What else, these bloddy devices keep on coming with different names just to mess up our lives.
so thats about it. 4 years of academic learning about 2 bloddy devices which even dont need any explanation at all.
