well, finally today was the day we kickstarting working on the major project. the college seems continuing with the torcher we have to bear in the class.. new one liners of nag are unleashed, everyday.. "I will kill you", "mai naag hoon", his praise of bihari people and desire to help one guy commit suicide in our batch are strong ...
while arun caught me today (bcoz of incessant mass-cuts) the more i experience the college, the more it seems to suck (its been 4 years, so now every teacher's personality is coming clearer). bagai was at his suckiest best today when he refused to sign on a document, forwarded by a professor of his dept only. (he said unke he HOD samajhkar sign karva lo) while the 3rd year juniors got it signed from Director of the college, our HOD is great.. ek sign se uski gaddi cheeni jaa sakti hai ...
My stories apart, big news around was the season of apology letters .. vats n nain, both guud frnds got apologies from atrenta (jisme i too had a good chance to get, and now, by god's grace, meri naukri ni lagi) anyways, am hoping vats does great in
iim interviews.. regarding nain, he will find something .. hopefully ....
coming to starting the project, it was a good day for science, but a bad one for emotions.. i just realised today that i am more of an idealist, introvert and innocent compared to even the most innocent guys around. well, innocent is not the correct word, but carrying yourself is the word. underestimating myself is sometimes what i do best.. but anyways, am not sorry about it..

traffic sense ...
well, its a day full of giving your time to your family... but anyways, i'd like to devote today on something general, which everyone sees, does and observes....
about the traffic sense prevailing in northern cities....
The himachali (and the other guys living uphill) dont like wasting their precious time on the road. however, i've noticed in them a kind of love for the road. for them, its prosperity to have a road... though there is no 'real' traffic uphill, these people like it being friendly with anyone on the road... and as you start descending from the hills, the attitude starts changing ...
punjab has a plethora of reactions ... while the rural guys love telling their tales of the day.. the ludhiana's and amritsar's are the ones which really lack traffic sense....... turban or not, you'll find attitude in the air... just try overtaking and you'll know the difference... you'll always see the other guy looking at you.. if you look back, his stare just widens and the face becomes like as if you're about to be cursed...... for the two-wheelers, people don't believe in headgear(some already have it in punjab) but cant live without a big pair of glasses and a hankerchief tied to cover the face (like a terrorist).... the bikes go so near the car you're travelling in that it may scare you to death if you're new to this.. while the bihari rickshawala's have their own story...
being in punjab has another problem .. the size of the cars .... the philosophy of bigger is better comes to test when the road is cluttered and they have to wait in queues... but thats what they have started liking.. staring at each other from their big cars ... and trying to show off their red-lights (on top of their cars)
come chandigarh, and no one is interested in you.. u'll seldom see stares.. people are sensible and have the requisite patience for the road .. but go further down, haryana likes it fast and zig-zag stuff ... talk about haryana bus drivers and this blog wont finish ...
go a little down and comes delhi ! the traffic paradise ... a person may pursue Phd on this traffic haven... though the general rule of the road here is to put your vehicle in any empty space possible.. even if there is a small opening, dont miss it.. keep on pushin the clutch and accelerator and going ahead .. you'll just do well ..
as you'd have noticed, the personality of people are visible from the road.... the uphill guys are friendly, straight and naive... punjab brings wannabe culture and fake attitude.. while delhi shows restless, insecure people having no time for themselves.... while chandi guys rock, happy and content ...

Rape in the final sem
being a hot topic to write, final sem has been a literal pain in the neck. it just seems harder than all semesters. 'nag' (now i'll use this as code name, cause someone told me whenever you type my honorable teacher's name, my blog comes up which i should avoid) is consistently giving us assignments to make in every class (for tues class its on RFID).
but the real rape which happened with us was in microwave. our thursday was just the usual assignment day. no one does the assignment on their own .... we just make the assignment in one of the earlier classes and submit it to the prof.. never does one know what are the questions or what are the answers .. its just rewriting whats written in the original (just like victorian days before photostats gave way to clerks).
EC is known for the failed attempts at mass-cuts. in every class, people stand up and go out of the class, trying to instill a notion of unity and confidence to perform a mass cut. same happened this time too ... never does the mass cut get executed.. just a normal thursday.. but the god's had contrived a different plan.
i collected the whole class's assignment and it seemed a neat bundle for the teacher to admire. the failed attempt to mass cut had happenned, too. now then sir comes in, takes the attendance. then we feel so happy to have completed the assignment that someone tells "sir, assignments..". the attention shifts to the bundle of ass. lying on the front seat and everyone is so happy to have submitted it.
sir starts asking who all has submitted the assignment and takes the attendance again. everyone is "yes sir, submitted". gurinder chips in, i have it in my room, i'll submit it at 12. the only one saying "no" is my fair lady, the college beauty, miss simran (hats off to her, going different from the crowd ). now then, he asks after the 2nd attendance, anyone who doesnt have assignment in the bundle ? no one makes any noise... (there's something in the air which is making me suspicious now..)
then comes the RAPE..... the next instant, we are told to sit less than 5 people on one bench. (acting fast, i scamper as fast as i can to sit behind dhawan, who had read microwave). he wrote 3 questions to do (2 from the assignment, and the best part was that we didnt even know the which 2 questions were in the assignment)anyways, he cleared that out. in our 4 years, never has such brutal treatment been seen.
as for me, (trying to be oversmart), i knew 1 answer and had copied a fair amount of the 2nd question when people sitting near me started snatching my pages and it ended him noticing me and telling the class that i'll average the marks you and your partners get.. from that moment, he never stopped staring at me (and i was cribbing in my mind while everyone must be copying).
After that, My pen was moving in the air, sheet empty and i was looking down the whole 35 minutes in despair.... neeraj, trying to outsmart, like me, ended up copying the answer 1 twice and then realizing he'd done a big error. till then, arun( the honorable teacher) had told to collect his and jaskirat(who had showed him the answer) separately .. to evaluate whether there was anything similar.
lol .. neeraj and me were caught in the microwave propagated RADAR of arun.... but in general it was a 1 hour cruel, forced, unexpected and brutal assault on our student life. RAPE.

legs, belts, wooden-sticks and baseball bats ...
Q:anything they have in common ???
A: all are used extensively to hit at the bums of 'newly' placed final year students in pec.
call it hooliganism or sadism, i never understand the meaning of making a really happy person feel pain by bashing him with leather belts, legs and baseball bats...
its final year and the placements happened a month ago, so this memory was not fresh.. however, this 4th, things went back in time when people got placed in bhel. as the outside auditorium, Gupta sir had caught people bashing with belts.. he even managed to gather some belts from those 'pranksters'.
the action had to shift from outside audi to front of hostel parking ... now, the ece guys are not far behind.. come towards C block and witness a mob of 20-25 people standing in the balcony waiting for their prey ...
i scramble upstairs to find alok (the prey) and here comes the leader of the mob to escort him.. i slipped sweetly and spent 15-20 mins.. i had work with alok, so he called up after 30 min.. only to realise that he's turning me over to the mob (who beated me like hell, for me gettin into a univ.. ) after getting a nice thrashing, i am the part of the mob.... come any guy, he's gonna get bashed up .. where are the principles of non-violence, now (tit-for-tat has preceded over them).
anyways, it happens only in pec.... hope the practices change ... if not, happy slogging ..

Dr. strangelove and how i stopped worrying and loving the mem
well, all's well that ends well. or should we say gives a better start to life. now, then... my self-created mess ended when i got the best news of my life recently. Glimpses of my four years in college come in front of me, some good, some not that good but anyways, 4th feb is the day to remember for lots of things for PEC(as I told in the nss camp)
-news about me and others getting into good colleges for study
-placements of 27 people in the best PSU of india at package of quarter of 7 lac(in a middle of recession)
-college team winning 3.5 lac in some mechanical car development competition
-what else, lots of news may follow too . but am poorly informed..
also, the storm of presentating the paper passed away with my news and my mind just feels more clearer, more focussed and more rejuvenated. better news coming in place, the same paper got selected for journal, too .. lol (imagine making a paper and 3 associations accepting it .. am hoping that now ieee doesnt accept it in the journal .. if that happens, i'll definately be found in a nearby assylum)
god plays its part, too.. deciding to defer my registration everyday helped me not waste my money (cause plans of going to conference seem remote now, considering journal acceptance). also, I had plans of registering on the same day the good news was bound to arrive from US, unknowingly. luck by chance ?? you bet !
or should you say, the presence of the unknown superpower..
hey i forgot to mention one more good thing that happened today
ram killed ravana today on NDTV imagine . probably that made the day good for commoners like me ...... lol

oye its february !
whenever the word february crops up, it just reminds of the love in air. .. first comes basant panchmi .. (the start of indian season of love).. and then valentines..
sms'es start coming from all places and the hottest discussion topic becomes the grand plan of valentines day ... and preparations (of all sorts ) for the day ...
now then, I dont understand the greatness why a particular day is chosen to say all the random emotional feelings to anyone, (and sometimes for the heck of it)? anyways, this is the time of desperation, too, for the singles.
While girls would oft find that some people are really nice these days(which they seldom notice.. i wonder DO THEY EVER use their 2.5 kg up there) the boys, are busy finding and zeroing on the girl(read targets) to get on this valentines.. some get it, some dont.. but someday, 'some' of those some guys get it .. anyways..
the newly made couples and ex's patching up again are busy planning for a perfect date (strategy:nothing should go wrong), nervous and anxious.. loving it ..
while the existing couples dont find it a special day(though they may want it to be one, but at the end, its just like another meeting with their partners.. nothing to remember about)
as you can see, 3/4th category doesnt really need valentines to express their love .. but the rest, deserve the best time they aspire for ... happy val's 2 them..
as for me, am going for cousin's marriage (damn it being on sat. and in middle of shaadi season, my possibilities are canceled, so am not even thinking of it)
wat else ??
MORAL OF THE STORY::: i am a proponent of valentines (as long as i have a date.. ) if not, val's is just another day in life .. a forgetful one .... lol

the assignment orgy ....
ORGY:
2 DISAPPROVING an orgy of sth a period when there is too much of something, usually a bad or harmful activity:
well, this week has been a mixed bag of sorts .. with loads of assignments, projects (and other work of mine), its been a real pain in the neck.
now then, it's monday (where we submitted an assignment of implementing a radio simulator on MATLAB.. worked whole sunday for that .. and i guess the work was research-kind thingy )
monday has bought 4 more assignments to my notice. come tuesday, rihani and saha need pieces of paper (termed by them as assignments, but by a friend as ASS-in-MINT)to be kept in their rooms and let them rot all year (before they finally decide to earn some money by selling it @6-9 rupees per kg.).
wednesday is off (but u never know if a teacher decides giving assignment for that day, too)
thursday is arun day when we submit derivations of all the equations he wrote today in class. any utility of such clerk-work ?? i dont think so..
friday brings another saha ass-in-mint to the fore ... wow na ??
now, then the week's packed up .. one ORGY we have in pec ....
